The intention was for a dusk shoot with the bridge and surrounding area lighting up at night. We arrived at the bridge at 6pm around 45 minutes before sunset to allow time to decide on the best vantage point and get the gear set up ready to shoot.
Of the nine members who turned out, we all managed to gain some kind of different location from which to capture our images and it was great to see how people saw the subject differently and took a different approach. Members were also able to assist and take inspiration from each others shots which then again changed how people looked at the image they were trying to capture.
As the darkness began to really set it around 8pm, time for shooting images was coming to an end, but the evening was not over for some after few of the members decided to continue the social aspect of the evening in across the road in The Lion pub with a light refreshment or two :-)
Over the past week, members who attended the mini meet have been posting their images on our Facebook group page where many people have been getting involved sharing feedback on the images, what they like and what they would do differently. What has been excellent is that we have been able to compare and see exactly what those who attended have done differently and once again we are able to share some of those images with you in the gallery below.
This is what Barnsley Photo Club is about, having fun, taking photographs, helping each other and sharing our images and thoughts creating discussion, making our photography..... better!
